I am wondering what peoples' opinions are about this. If you are involved in a medical forum, you must be interested in life expectancy as well. My question is whether you believe that the life expectancy for developed countries will continue to grow? Why, or why not? And do you see this as a positive or a negative thing?

I do believe that there is a tendency to over-treat people in many developed countries. I believe that there is a point in which medical treatment is not only undesired on a personal level, but also unethical. I watched this docu-series about organ donation the various ways in which the modern medical community can now augment the human body. I am no doctor, but as a Christian, I sometimes wonder whether we have no strayed too far off the path that was intended for us, as the human race.

This is a debate that can be philosophical, religious, or simply factual. I do believe that the life expectancy will remain to be somehwere in the mid 80s, for the simple reason that that seems to be natural. People will keep on dying regardless of medical treatment, and I think the average will remain about the same.
