My husband was diagnosed with bowel cancer in Feb 2000 just before his 45th birthday and had most of the transverse section of his colon removed by surgery. Biopsisies showed a large secondary tumour in his liver and following a 10 week course of aggressive chemotherapy to shrink the tumour he had surgery to remove a third of his liver. He had no further chemotherapy and we are now coming to the 13th anniversary of his original diagnosis . He appears to be hale and hearty but how much longer have we got? I have not read of anyone else surviving this long. I am so scared
