I never thought I should be happy just because my kid is healthy, both mentally and physically. I know of mother whose kid suffers form Down syndrome and even though she appears normal and calm, I can tell that deep down she resents everything because her kid cannot be like the others. She loves him and gives him the maximal attention, but what is really life with child with Down syndrome like?

Very hard, there is no doubt about it. And not because of the special needs the child requires, but because of the fact a mother knows what kind of life the child is missing because of that condition. And also, only if the conditions that child lives in are perfect, the estimated lifespan is about 35, 40 years. Sadly, most of those little patients pass away much earlier.
