I have PCOS and I take Metformin, 1000 mg twice a day and take Provera every month mid cycle to control the heavy bleeding at cycle. This combination is perfect for me. If I stop taking the Metformin, I stop getting my cycle on a regular basis and have the several months without, near hemmorage bleeding when I do get it. PCOS increases the risk of miscarriage and makes it difficult to conceive, but not impossible. I have had 6 pregnancies. I have one child. Sad to have had so much loss, but the one success is priceless. To conceive and prevent miscarriage, I did see a specialist. PCOS can be manageable if you have a doctor that has experience dealing with it.
