hi im 18 and I've had a very light yeast infection for over a year now... I've treated it several times and everytime I go to the gyn they just say "yeah I see a little yeast in there ill write you a perscription" I've probably went through like 15 treatments and tried the cream, the pill and both at the same time and it won't go away. I've been with the same guy for 2 years now and he says its hardly noticeable, just has a different smell/taste and thicker consistancy, and the symptoms are occasionally more severe evry once in a while depending on the amount of intercourse that I have that week but it rarely ever itches or bothers me at all!? what's going on...? please help!

Women who get recurrent yeast infections most likely have a candida yeast overgrowth throughout their entire body, starting up in the sinuses and down to the vagina. The worst infection is housed in the small intestine.
If you have ever taken oral antibiotics, this causes all the bacteria in the body to die, even the good bacteria. The good bacteria keeps the small amount of candida in the body benign. However, when it dies off, it's able to grow to massive proportions, causing a slew of health problems.
Antibiotics are not the only culprit. Eating a diet high in sugar and white flour and similar foods will feed the candida so rapidly that it grows too much.
If you want to get rid of these yeast infections for good, you must change your diet. I hate to say it, but your boyfriend should change his, as well, because you two pass it back and forth from each other through sex and kissing. If you'd like to do this, reply to this thread or give me a private message. I won't post it now because 1) most people don't want to do it and 2) it's a little lengthy. If you'd like to do it, I can give you tips on how to make it much easier on yourself. I've done this diet before, as well.
