I am now 23, and I began having sex over a year ago. Since having sex I have had 5 or 6 UTI's, 4 yeast infections, and BV twice. I have not had any new partners (I am still with the same guy), I am healthy: I eat lots of fruits, vegetables, nuts, etc., take vitamins, excercise, shower daily, while in the restroom I wipe properly, pee before and after sex, and drink tons of water!
Last night I got a UTI, and it had been about 2 months since my last one. I just had a yeast infection. The doctor can't tell me why or what to do. I even drink that yucky nonsweetened, unfilter cranberry juice. My UTI's are always very painful. Please help.

I had the exact same thing for years and I finally found out that I was allergic to latex condoms. When I stopped using the condoms, I quit having UTI's and yeast infections.

when the body goes through an UTI, the antibiotic for the UTI will kill the vaginal Ph making the yeast grow, such as candida. Your recurring vaginal infections will most likely be because of your over use of antibiotics. Sorry! I too went through this a couple of years ago. Always pee after sex, ALWAYS, even if you're too tired. Also, try to get tested for PID (pelvic inflammatory disease.) hope this helps.

After similar problems as you, but including pain with sex that felt like severe sunburn in my vagina, or that someone had taken a cheese grater to it, I finally searched the internet to see if there could be something I hadn't heard of that could cause a couple with a history of over 20 years of frequent sex to suddenly have to stop due to severe pain. My doc prescribed estrogen cream which didn't help. But boy is there a goldmine of information on this newly recognized vulvar condition called vulvodynia, and a related condition (which I hav) called vestibulitis (the vestibule being the vulvar area ( from clitoris to perineal area and first inch or so of vagina). Not too many docs are familiar with it yet, but there is a National Vulvodynia Assoc. which will send you a list of docs who are experienced with treating it

Several things can apparently cause it, including your pesky old UTIs and yeast infections. Sometimes if they are too frequent, the immune system can overreact and voila, this newer condition can appear. The good news is that there are several treatments that are showing good results for lots of women. I haven't seen my doc yet but am sure looking forward to painfree sex again after four years. This kind of problem sure doesn't help a relationship! I sure hope you find time to look into it like I did, and find it really made your day and gave you hope of saying goodbye to pain in that special place that was created for good feelings, not sensations of 3rd degree burns!!

Best,

I would go on a yeast cleanse if I were you. What you are explaining is how everything started for me about 9 years ago. Buy some Threelac off of the internet... a yeast cleansing system and the best and most trustworthy on the market, then some great probiotics, natural fiber supplement, and finally... watch what you eat for at least a month-3 months. It sounds like a lot, but trust me... it could stop this in it's tracks and it could get much worse with every year that passes. It is so worth it. I have done so much research to help myself. The Threelac website will also give you a list of symptoms to look for and tell you how to do a simple at-home saliva test to see if you have yeast problems. I wish so badly that someone could have given me this advice 8-9 years ago, and I urge you to check into it. Natural is always the best way to try first. Good luck!

I know I'm about 6years late but I also had the exact same problem.
I use to research on line whilst sitting on the toilets for hours as my sensation to pee was just about bearable whilst sitting on the loo.
I found a forum, (can't remember which one) on which a member suggested rubbing/washing your vagina with natural yogurt. (Home made yogurt was the best as its culture and good bacteria is at its strongest before its stored on the fridge)

All u do is boil 2ltr milk in a pan (to kill all the bad bacteria) set aside to cool so its warm (45 degrees roughly) you can place the pot in a sink full of cold water to cool down quicker.
Then u get a teaspoon of natural yogurt (from the supermarket can be any natural yogurt) and mix it into the warm milk. You then pour milk into a plastic container with a lid, and wrap in a blanket (to maintain the temperature) for at least 4-7 hours to allow fermentation. You can check after about six hours and if the milk has set them the yogurt is made. Use this warm/room temperature yogurt and liberally apply to the vagina. The fresh bacteria in the warm yogurt will kill off any bad bacteria in you vagina.
Any yogurt left in the container can be stored in the fridge and is good for you to eat or blended with ice cold water and drank as this will pass the good bacteria to your kidneys and bladder.
I'm c**p at writing but I hope you understand my receipe.
You can get receipe if u google Wikipedia yogurt.
Or if your too busy you can use the yogurt from supermarket, but i know people that where in my extreme situation will make yogurt at home because I was on the verge of suicide as I couldn't take it any more.
I had peeing problems everyday near enough for two years and doctors just kept giving antibiotics for UTI, thrush, UTI, thrush ....now if I get it (like today ) I make yogurt and wash my self with it a few times during the day and then it goes away and doesn't come back for months sometime even years.
I sympathise with you...going to work was the worst for me...as I used to spend hours sitting in the toilets waiting for it to pass...this obviously pissed off my colleagues as they thought I'm being lazy....
Hope u get better soon and my thoughts are with you.
