Hello,

I'm female, twenty years old. I've had this strange area on the outside of my vagina for a while now. It's on the outer part of my genital area, low on the labia majora on the left side. It's a small section of skin, white-ish color, and it's loose. When I touch it, press into it with my finger, it's almost like it caves in a little as though it were a deep acne scar with the patch of stretched skin from the inflammation remaining. I've gotten frequent ingrown hairs since I was thirteen and I've been thinking maybe the cause of this weird, painless, white area is from a ruptured follicle. I've had several in grown hairs down in that area so it is possible. I don't recal remembering having a rupture though, all I know is that this place has been here for a while and I'm starting to wonder what is the cause and what I may be able to about it. It's not large in size, about that of a small in grown-hair section. Like I said, I've gotten them before but I've never had a mark like this left behind. I know it could have been a pimple but I wasn't sure if a pimple could leave this type of thing behind. I looked into boils as well, which it could fit in with that. It's not painful but it is quite embarrassing. If anyone has clue as to what this is, what may have been the cause and/or how I may be able to get rid of this loose patch of skin or improve it, I would greatly appreciate it.
