I'm so glad I'm not the only one going through this! It all started on the first day of my vacation to Italy. I threw up as soon as the plane landed and thought it was just a stomach bug/nerves (It was my first overseas flight and I don't particularly like planes). But I continued to feel nauceaus, throw up and have diarrhea all day, until I was abe to eat dinner that night. Each morning for the next week I would wake up and feel nauceaus and have no appetite. I could only eat a few pieces of fruit or a salad for each meal. I had a couple of really bad days where I couldn't even look at or smell food without gaging. I would try to eat because I knew I had to, but then I would just throw it up and feel horrible. I couldn't sleep and felt weak and I was shivering and shaking. The only thing that helped me was eating fruit or other simple foods at constant intervals throughout the day.
I'm home now and feeling better, but I still wake up in the morning with nausea and have to eat something right away - which is odd for me because I used to hate eating right after I woke up.
Needless to say, it really put a damper on my vacation and I have scheduled a doctors appt for this week. I'm thinking it could be hypoglycemia or related to diabetes because there is a history of those in my family. I just really want to feel normal 100% of the time again because I've felt off for over a month now and am heading off to college in a few weeks. :/

You should have gaviscon or something like that for indigestion before you try to eat following stomach flu or Norovirus. The lining of the stomach irritated from the constant vomiting and therefore will react with anything put in it, which is why doctors put you on the brat diet.
Plenty of fluids and electrolyte drinks, and nothing acid for a while.
