I am a 20 year old and I have recently noticed a soft lump within the upper left side of the scrotum, next to the penis. It is starts just below the where the scrotum meets my body and extends down about 3/4 of an inch to 1 inch. There is about 1/4 of an inch to 1/2 inch separation between that and my left testicle. It is painless and I have not had any problems lately. Can anyone help?

EDIT: After reading many more posts on these boards, I have noticed many common symptoms with vericoscele. Especailly the fact that laying down makes the lump go away completely. Should I get this checked?

Sure you should....any lump on the body should be checked, painless or not....if nothing else, then at least for the piece of your mind and to check for an underlying medical issues.
