I am in the process of loosing some weight, and while I do have an eating problem as well, I am positive that my main issue is with not getting enough exercise. It is for this reason that I recently decided to take my bike to work every day, which is a 20 minute cycle, and back again as well of course. Anyway, this afternoon I noticed there is a lump on my tyre wall. Do I need to get it fixed up at the bike shop, or is there any way I can do this myself?

Cycling to work is a great thing to do! I am from Holland myself and have been cycling for literally as long as I can remember! I do believe that, as soon as a lump appears in the inner tyre, this is normally a sign that something is seriously wrong, and if you manage to fix the tyre, it will just last you for a short period of time. I recommend that you get a new tyre altogether.

I have to say that I was rather surprised to see this topic here! Whatever happened to Ask The Doctor, and stuff like that? I was under the impression that malfunctioning bikes needed a mechanic, not a doctor? :-) Any way, I do agree that the tyre should probably be changed. Happy exercising!
