Hi Ya'll
My name is Dave and I am in the midst of Perc w/d. I got off the oxycotens last month after taking 3 30's a day for a long time and even with the perc's 15mg IR's it still wasn't easy. Now I am getting off the perc's and wow it's not fun boy's and girls. Back up a little I was in an industrial accident some 12yr's ago (wow that long where has the time gone) anyway thats where it all started not goin to bore you with the amounts of pill's or mg's and progression but I ended up here at around 240-260mg's a day due to cronic pain because of my leg being torn off among other thing's. I have a Doc that willl give me anything I have even turned down the methadone and the patches was to scared of addiction lol. So here I am and I am an addict and am tryin my ass off to get clean I have done this before so I am gonna share what's worked for me.
1.NOTHING WILL TAKE AWAY ALL THE WITHDRAWL'S short of getting hooked on something much worse and as long as you understand that then you will do fine.
2.Get Immodium AD this will help with the runnin to the bathroom every 5 minutes and it also has a small amount of an opiat in it but since it does not cross the blood brain barrier it only satisfies (somewhat) the physical withdrawls.
3.Your skin and legs will do things you would have thought impossible so in extreme cases if you can access some xanax or volume this will help tremendoslly but only for a short time we do not want to trade one addiction for another.
4.Hot bath's as much as possible and some muscle relaxer's (if you have access)
5.EAT!!!!!! You will not want to but you have to it will make you feel better.
6.Drink lot's of liquid's no pop gatorade and water and juice.
7.Try and do some physical activity it seems to help with the natural endorphine process.
8.Talk to someone about what you are goin thru that helps alot (o yea the xanax will help with all the cryin just wait and se u will be a blubbering id**t lol)
9.Get mad at the way you have become and remember how it was and how good it will be.
10.Pray......Pray.........Pray.....
It will get better the third and fourth day's for me are the worst then little by little it will ease up just wait and se and by the way keep a journal day to day and reflect you may not feel like it but when you read about the hell day 2 was and your on 7 you will se how much better it is.

Thank's healthfitnessguy I am having a real bad day and night I guess because of the length of time and I am not gettin any younger the ol trick's to help the withdrawl's aren't working so well but I just have to grin and bear it.

Hows it going today??? I am 3 weeks clean off OxyContin and its not been easy at all. I think for me a lot of it is mental. My body does ache, so I've been taking either tabs or suboxin in very small amounts to take the edge off the pain, not get high. Hoping it'll get easier, and that I will stop thinking about them all the time.
