Hi there can you kindly share who your NAET Practitioner was in NYC

Hi, I am a fervent believer in science and my world was shattered when I came across something like this and it worked. My naturopath is trained in NAET and I did not believe in it. I was treated for allergies to alders that had kept me from biking and running outside for several weeks out of the year and were getting worse every year. She treated me 5 years ago and allergies have not recurred. More recently I had a reaction to plastic in my mouth (invisalign ortho treatment) where my throat got very sore and did not go away on its own. She treated me for this and was able to get through the 12 month ortho treatment without feeling anything in my throat. I still don't understand how it works but I think it's because there isn't much research on energy healing techniques. We are made of energy - atoms are charges and these charges vibrate to various frequencies. They can vibrate in harmony or get out of whack. Science is defined by humans. What isn't studied isn't necessarily unscientific or unworthy of research - it just isn't researched as widely as drugs promoted by large and financially well-endowed pharmaceutical companies. There is no money in energy healing. My naturopath charges $50 for a visit and treatment of NAET. How much would I have spent over 10 years in allergy drugs? After that she makes no additional money with me because I don't need further treatment for this condition. Can it come back? Probably at some point, it's possible. But 5 years free of allergies is good evidence and enough for me; I don't need to wait for FDA approved research. The balance of my faith in medicine has shifted dramatically during the last 10 years toward non-invasive, alternative medicine and further away from western "modern" medicine fed by big pharma. So yes, I highly recommend NAET treatments, unless the practitioner charges too much money for it.

Not even remotely interesting. Merely stating NAET to be a scam with zero reference to any fact to include in the above posted smut is immeasurably irresponsible. There are thousands of people who have been helped if not all together cured of his/her allergies thanks to NAET, including myself. Your statements above are at best... ignorant.

Dr. Barrett misleads people in to thinking that Eastern Medicine is just bunk and it's simply for self-interest. It wouldn't surprise me if it was actually Dr. Barrett himself writing the garbage above. Go away fool.

Here is a little something about "Dr" Barrett ------ I did not write this... I pasted this from a website that exposed Barrett for what he is really about.... He has sued so many doctors and has not won a single lawsuit... And this is the person that runs "quackwatch" - I question his status as "Dr" -------- And the motives behind this "Dr's" actions are also highly questionable - if i read it correctly... he's really not even a Dr. ------ Who the heck would listen to this dope? Someone that doesn't know better.... Please read below... it's very enlightening. If you want to read the whole excerpt I suggest you do a search... Even more eye-opening!!! It's safe to say ---- the nay-sayers have mere self-interest when spewing smut with NO MERIT!

During heated and often dramatic courtroom proceedings, Mr. Negrete
pointed out many of the questionable statements Barrett includes on
his websites attacking chiropractic, as well as facts about Barrett's
own credentials that shocked even his supporters.

Mr. Turner says, "It is very important that a very responsible judge
in Barrett's hometown recognized that he was making false allegations
and dismissed the case. Barrett has cost untoward numbers of
consumers pain, anguish and probably serious harm by his
misrepresentation of the facts about subjects ranging from
acupuncture to zinc.

Mr. Turner, who among other campaigns led the team that got
acupuncture needles approved as safe by FDA, worked with a Senate
committee to abolish the dysfunctional vaccine regulatory agency,
worked with whistleblowers to stop the Swine Flu inoculation
campaign, kept aspartame off the market for ten years, and played a
key role in lobbying the Organic Food Production Act through Congress
(all areas on which the Foundation for Health Choice focuses), says,
Our objective is to end Barretts abuse of consumers by eliminating
the false and misleading information from his website and his entire
network of websites and replacing it with sound, useful information
for consumers."

Says Dr. Koren, This is just the beginning. Just as the FTC battle
was not about Tedd Koren alone but had ramifications for the entire
chiropractic and natural health professions so the Barrett v. Koren
battle will have major ramifications for all. Were going to give the
Quackbusters a taste of their own medicine. Theyll learn how
dangerous medicine can be.

SELF INTEREST - BASELESS ATTACK ----- DO YOUR HOMEWORK - NAET WORKS!!

Who Is Steven Barrett, What Are Quackbusters?

Steven Barrett is an unlicensed Pennsylvania psychiatrist, who,
though he failed his psychiatric boards and has been criticized for
his lack of expertise by several courts, still claims to often advise
the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Food and Drug Administration
(FDA), the FBI, State Attorneys General, HMOs, Consumer Reports,
medical journals and state medical, chiropractic and dental boards.

The insurance industry cites Barretts highly opinionated Quackbuster
attacks to deny paying claims for chiropractic and other natural healthcare.

HERE IS MORE ABOUT "DR" BARRETT - HE IS BEING EXPOSED - I DID NOT WRITE THE INFORMATION BELOW - THIS IS FROM MY RESEARCH - I HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN HOLISTIC MEDICINE FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND HAVE SEEN INCREDIBLE RESULTS WITHOUT INTERFERENCE OF THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY -

Mr. Turner, who among other campaigns led the team that got
acupuncture needles approved as safe by FDA, worked with a Senate

Our mission is not just about revealing the Quackbusters to be the
unscientific bigots that they are. We are fighting for health care
freedom. One of our goals is to permit parents to make sound
decisions about vaccination for their children. There are too many
sound health reasons for certain children to avoid vaccination and
the government has recognized too many vaccine caused deaths and
maimings (over $1.5 billion of compensation has been paid to bereaved
families by the federal vaccine injury compensation system since
1988) to allow a non-vaccinated child to be refused day care,
school, college, or employment, says Dr. Koren.

Mr. Turner is also lead counsel in a case brought against Barrett by
Dr. Don Harrison, the chiropractor who founded and leads Chiropractic
Biophysics.

Is Stephen Barrett, M.D. a Quack?
According to the Quackwatch website, Stephen Barrett, M.D. says this about quackery: Dictionaries define quack as "a pretender to medical skill; a charlatan" and "one who talks pretentiously without sound knowledge of the subject discussed."

Stephen Barrett, M.D. does not have a degree in nutrition science. He has been trained in psychiatry but has not practiced psychiatry for many, many years and has, to the best of my understanding, never practiced nutritional medicine. In my opinion, Stephen Barrett, M.D., when it comes to the field of medicinal use of nutritional supplements, can be easily defined as a Quack since he pretends to "have skills or knowledge in supplements and talks pretentiously" without actually having clinical expertise or sound knowledge of herbal and nutritional medicine.

Ha... you be the judge of who the quack is....

NAET WORKS. Maybe not for everyone but who's to say it was even done properly.... But "Dr" Barrett... no way would I take his word on anything...

NAET WORKS - Here's info about "Dr" Barrett ------- I did not write the info below - i just did some research ----

I finally found someone else who feels that Stephen Barrett is a quack in his own right.

Dear Sir, I am writing regarding the hypocrisy that is being perpetrated by those who hold themselves out to be all knowing in fields with which they have no clinical experience or practice. It is more than obvious that this retired Dr. Stephen Barrett of Quackwatch has close ties to the government, the pharmaceutical industry, and otherwise the monopoly that exists in this country that chooses to deceive the American populace in the interest of furthering their own graft, greed and corruption. I commend you on your work and am a long time follower. I want to say in closing it is doctors like you that help me maintain my faith in medicine. As for the rest maybe in time they will open their eyes and minds once their pocketbooks are filled with money.

Thank you for you review of Quackwatch and Mr. Stephen Barrett. Most of the questions you have posted I have wondered as well. Further, I have been unable to verify the claim that Stephen Barrett himself is a quack, but have found several articles, such as this (can't site the website as it's not allowed on here but just do your research and you'll find it) that do make such a claim. I am somewhat defensive toward anyone who seems to take the position that all "alternative medicines" are scams after my wife barely survived the abuse of the AMA's "traditional medicine" and was healed with the help of natural supplements. I also find it funny that modern medicine has managed to steal the label of "traditional" for themselves and pinned "alternative" on that which, at least in some cases, dates back to biblical times.

WHO IS DR BARRETT YOU ASK?! ------ WELL HERE'S A TIDBIT - Lacking in merit to this degree -

The most damning testimony before the jury, under the intense cross-examination by Negrete, was that Barrett had filed similar defamation lawsuits against almost 40 people across the country within the past few years and had not won one single one at trial. During the course of his examination, Barrett also had to concede his ties to the AMA, Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

NAET WORKS.

I'M WONDERING WHO THE QUACK IS DR. BARRETT
