Mouth stitches question

Thought id come back an let you know.
The stiches started to break away after a week.
They def added to the discomfort.

I looked up about it.
I thought all the stitch would disolve away, especially being in my mouth.
But only the bit through my skin did.
This is because, Its like having an infection, Your body see it as a foreign body an your immune system disolves it.
