Just wondering how long this took to clean up after you started treating it. I also got diagnosed exactly the same and told to buy the Clotrimazole too.

How long did you keep applying it for?

just went through the same exact thing.  Started out as a slight itch, ignored it for a day, next morning foreskin ballooned up aournd my penis head like a mushroom.   It does not hurt to pee yet it iches like a son of a gun. Did like everyone else said went to the doctor and he says it looked like an infection but I had some mnor chaffing which may have let in the infection.  they prescribed me some antibiotics adn went to walmart to pick them up which was only $4.  Doctor said other than that to apply neopsorin or triple antibiotic ointment to the area and air the boys out.

I have the same issue only I just discovered them today, I am 17, and sexually active with myself and a female partner, and I am safe. But I am worried, I do not think it is a STD, but I have been doing research and it looks like yeast infection, which apparently when treated quickly is no big deal. My head has little cracks in them, and one single minuscule red pump when not erect, and under my foreskin it is red and itches like hell. But when I am erect it all goes away....help.

I'm 57 years old and i used to get it quite a bit when i was married.But it would go away in a couple of days.But i have it now and it's been almost 2 weeks having it.Iv'e tried all sorts of creams.But now i went and bought an anti-fungal medication to see if it works that was 2 days ago but no results so far.I'm fixing to make a doctors appointment.I am diabetic and think that might be why it's not healing.Years ago i didn't have to do anything it just went away.

Please don't use Neosporin until you've read this:

You really should see your doctor if you have any symptoms, especially around your penis etc. Come on, if you had kids, would you really entrust your precious jewels to input from anonymous people on here?

A sensible approach to this could be:

1. Get some anti-yeast/thrush treatment such as Canesten.
2. Follow the instructions on the box! It says "if this has not cleared up in 7 days, see your doctor"
3. If it hasn't cleared up, See your doctor!

Please. these people on here are very helpful, but I'm sure they'd be the first to admit they're not qualified (unless they are, but where's the proof?)

This is den3282 and i founf out that the anti fungal medication is stating to work.It's much less painful to pull the foreskin back and it doesn't itch anymore.Hopefully in the next couple of days it will be healed.I still have an appointment for wendsday with my doctor though.

did you get it from a woman because my boyfriend left out of town and two days later has this problem could it be from him sleeping with someone or what please help because we have a four month old daughter and i am really upset thinking he cheated on me.

Had this for years, seen a specialist from UK working in NZ. The major problem is using scented soap, it kills the good bacteria leaving open to thrush etc. I was told by the specialist to use Aqueous cream BP to wash the penis under the foreskin, this is available in 500g pots. Never had a problem since. However I tried a special soap recommended my a pharmacy. Yes the next day it was back. So now I only use the cream.

Well if you don't think it's an std then you probably aren't washing it enough and especially since your not circumsized you can get an infection easy if you don't clean it enough or you do not clean it properly of you don't know how to clean just pull back the foreskin and clean it with soap but as long as you havent sat on a public toilet no you can't get an std from it
