Hi, I am desperate. Couple of years ago my husband started having some kind of medical problem. At that time we could not even imagine what was wrong with him. It all began with his shaking hands. Since it did not seize, he went to see a doctor. When the results came in we were shocked. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. From that time on, his symptoms only got worse and new ones occurred. Should I put him in a home?

Hi, I am sorry to hear that your husband's condition is getting worse. Parkinson's disease is a serious illness. It is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system. The most important thing about it is that the treatment must begin as soon as possible so that the symptoms can be kept under control. It seams that you did not take the first symptoms that have occurred with your husband seriously. I am also experiencing Parkinson's disease trough my grandmother. However, she is very old but we have taken her to the doctor the moment we saw something was wrong with her. The medicines that were prescribed showed results. As for your husband, I suggest you talk to his doctor about the symptoms that are getting worse. Perhaps the change of the drugs will give better results. If it is too difficult for you to take care of him on your own you can always hire a nurse. Another option is a home. Again, talk to his doctor about all these things.
