I had my tonsils removed on November 27th. My ENT said that in less than 1% of patients the tonsils can grow back as soon as 30 days after surgery, but he has never seen it happen and he's been an ENT for a long time.

When I first got my tonsils out I had cave like holes in the side where they were removed, and they were scabbed but as the scabbing started going down the caves started to close...it looked like they were growing back. Now they are completely filled with pink colored tissue, and has little holes like my tonsils used to...

Does this mean they grew back or is it normal? My ENT is on a month long vacation so I can't ask him yet and the nurses at his office aren't helpful, they tell me to wait until he comes back but I'm freaking out.

When I was 12 I had part of my kidney removed and it regenerated like the liver does. The doctors were freaked out because none of them have ever heard of that before and theres no record of that ever happening so maybe this is like that?!

If anyone can give me any hope that this is what it's supposed to look like I will probably cry tears of joy because that surgery was the worst experience of my life and I can't imagine having to go through it again.

hi, I have done some research on the matter and there are quite a few doctors that are saying yes it is possible for tonsils to grow back again if and only if the surgeon hadn't removed all of it the first time but they don't say how long it takes to happen though.
