That’s a common problem after back surgery, post-operative constipation. It happens for different reasons: the use of analgesic drugs, the anesthesia itself, less physical activity… What you can do to make it better is drink enough water (2l/day), eat fiber rich food, increase your physical activity if you can, even if it is just a short walk, and take analgesic pills the less possible, especially if you are using narcotics. If this doesn’t help you can always ask your doctor for laxatives drugs, there different types and you can see with your doctor which one works the best for you.
