My 3 yr old has just started to urinate and defecate in her clothes, on the floor, and in the bed when she gets in trouble, or does not get what she wants as a way to "punish" me and my husband. They are not accidents, she has been toliet trained for over a year and does it deliberatly and immediatly after the incident occurs. Is this normal? And how can we stop it. We tried ignoring it, talked to her, ruled out worms or an infection, spanked her, made her clean it up, you name it and it has ceased to stop. We tried diapers but she removes them and does it anyway. Any help would be great.

Dont spank your child
Ignore bad behavior, dont talk about. Dont make eye contact, dont fuss over it.
Go about you day after you clean it up.
Attend to other things imediately.

Just ignore it. It's an attention getting mechanism. I know (from esperience!) it's hard to ignore when I child is making that kind of mess, but if you give them any attention, even bad, they will continue to do it.

When you do clean it up don't speak to them, don't make eye contact, and don't show any emotion. If they know you hate cleaning it up they'll do it more.

Also, I would try and have them serve timeouts/punishments somewhere that I can watch. That way you can put a stop to it immediatly. Or maybe timeouts should be in a dry tub? That way you can just wash away the mess :-)
