I just had my tonsils taken out on the 25th of April..after waking up apparently I was vomiting but don’t really remember doing so. When I got home I actually felt fine I went out with my mom and was able to talk and eat Mac and cheese, the first few days I did really well up until I hit day 5. I’m currently on day 7 and the pain is terrible!!! I noticed on the sides of my tongue they are swollen and sore and look weird kind of curled ?My doctor told me that the the tubes they put in during the surgery can cause break down of tissue and that's why it is the way it is and to just rinse with salt water. My tongue is white and bumpy going down my tongue. It hurts so bad to eat or drink anything without it stinging or having a burning sensation. The amount of saliva is so annoying and I'm constantly having to spit (sorry if this sounds nasty) it is now currently 2 a.m and My tongue started to feel like it was swelling up...I took my meds so hopefully they kick in soon because I want to go to bed. I called off work for 2 weeks and I'm nervous I'm going to need more days off because I'm already on day 7 and I feel like it's getting worse than better... I know that quote "things will get worse before they get better" but this is annoyingggg. I was scared that I had thrush but seems like this is a normal thing which made me feel a little better and less anxious because I've been feeling the need to blow up my doctors phone about all of this....some food tips for my fellow friends who are starving surprisingly oatmeal is really easy to eat, I use a little but more water so it's not so thick and I've been able to eat that fine same with chicken broth and you might be able to get away with eating some ramen if you like the snack pack puddings those are goodd. Anyways I hope this helps and people can relate and feel better, I know reading these comments definitely calmed me down. It's now 2:50 and im sleepy so I'm going to try to get some rest !!!! Good luck with your recovery I wish you all a fast recovery!
