hi. i am new to these forums and from what ive read ive learned alot of information about women's health.

i need more information or input. my girlfriend is 6 days late with her period. but she had brown spotting maybe 5-8 (im jus estimating cuz we both dont know when that happened) days before her period was due. and just last night (5th day of being late) she had a white discharge (odorless).

ive searched thru alot of forums and sites and there are alot of opinions but none that actually help my question. which is.

brown spotting 5-8 day before period due, white odorless discharge 5th day of being late. what could this mean.

and when is the best time to do a preg test? i always thought it was 14days after the supposed period date. but ive seen on some sites 7 days is okay to test.

thanks for the reply. could she also experience these symptoms of late period, brown spotting, white discharge because she had a fever this month also that lasted for almost a week?

i also read somewhere that if a woman is pregnant she wouldnt ovulate or menstruate. is this true? is spotting considered a part of menstruation?

also. if she is pregnant. how many weeks? her last period shouldve taken place around july 17th. because her last period was june 17th.

thanks for any input anyone can provide.

It is possibly pregnancy. The time sounds right for the spotting to be from implantation. However, it could also be that she is just skipping/late for her period for whatever reason.
If she is 5 days late then a pregnancy test should work now. Look for one with 25iu detection level. These can be used from the day of the missed period.

You actually can take a test as early as 14 days after SEX,not the period =)

She could be spotting as she starts her period, which many women do. IS she on the pill? Many women on the pill will only spot as a period, not have full blown bleeding.

If you guys are concerned why not see a doc at planned parenthood? NO PARENTAL consent is needed ever, and they see teens in many cases for free/low cost.

If you are having sex, a condom may not be enough, and a good birth control method is vital for pregnancy prevention!
