The town corn farmer spread human waste on his field 6 months prior to planting. Should we be concerned where the corn is going? It certainly sounds digusting but how unsafe is it?

I don't know a lot of information in this area, but I do know that human waste can be used as fertilizer. Not all human waste is appropriate because of parasitic infections, wrong pH, etc., but if you're careful, you can use it. You can read more information about it in the book "The Humanure Handbook," by Joseph C. Jenkins.
