So kindly be very cautious before applying this medication on the children and ask ten doctors before doing the same.

My daughter at 4 was diagnosed by her pediatrician as having no opening. I was shocked. She was sent for genetic tests. Those were the worst day of my life as the doctor insinuated that my daughter might be a boy. the tests came back that she was a girl and we used Premarin. at age 6 herpediatrician realized the opening had closed again. We were prescribed cream again. Now at age 8, same thing has happened. I don't know what to think. I feel worried. My daughter is at an age too where she would probably start to feel a bit awkard if I have to apply cream there. Is there anyone that has been through this? My doctor also asked us to get an ultrasound. I am terrified of this- what it might show. I just want her to be normal and be able to have kids.

At the lady that said she wanted to sue the hospital, because it's her "Daughter's Life!!", shut up. You JUST said you're not going to use the cream, which is stupid since I'm sure your daughter would have wanted the cream if she had the ability to make a concience decision at her age, and also, it's not your daughter's life that's being put at risk. You have the cream, use it.

I had to same problem as a child, my mother took to me to a doctor, they gave me a cream to rub in the area, after a while a line appeared then it opened, i had no pain at all.

Why would you not use the cream and deny your daughter needed treatment? What will the lawsuit solve? You need to give your daughter the treatment the doctor ordered ASAP.

My daughter was also born without an opening to her vagina. At 3 years old I first noticed a tiny opening appear; after a day of (attempting) hula hooping and lots of jumping about, three days later (or so) it has now fully opened. She is having pain when urinating at the moment, but I'm sure that will pass very soon. It has done it on its own, the doctor has never mentioned anything about it during examinations (so I assumed it was normal for very young girls to have this). My advice would be not to panic, speak to the doctor if you are worried, but its quite possible the skin will open in its own time. Also from reading other comments it sounds like its really important to take action early if it doesn't happen naturally.

My daughter was 3 months old when myself and her pediatrician noticed she had no vaginal opening.I was given a prescription cream, normally prescribed to menapausal women, for her. Her pediatrician told me that I didn't notice at first, because female newborns have some of their mother's hormones. At this stage,my daughter wasn't producing her own estrogen, causing her opening to close and thicken. With the cream,it softened and opened. It has to be checked periodically. If it closes again,She will have to have surgery before she is 10,they say. I say 9, because I have 2 other daughters who received their periods at 9.
