MEDICALHello, I had a heart attack and DES placed in RCA 2 years and 1 month ago. I had quite a bit of discomfort and chest pains for the first year or longer. Now I am getting a rapid and irregular Heart Beat. I went 2 weeks and only exersized twice. This always happens when I go a week or 2 without doing my cardio exercises right. As long as I ride my recumbent bike 30-40 minutes with warm up and cool down and stretching at least every other day I have a lot less problems.

I can't tell you how important it is to do your exercises if you want to feel okay. You will always know it's there and you will feel like skipping your exercises sometimes. I can get away with skipping 3 days once in awhile but every time I go a week or more without them, I get more chest pains and I start to feel my heart bang and skip beats, WITHOUT FAIL! Sorry to yell, this is so important I couldn't help it. You've gotta do it. Just yesterday my heart was banging so hard I could feel it throughout my body. As soon as I did my 35 minutes of exercise + warm up and cool down,, about another 5-6 minutes,, the banging heart was gone and I felt fine again. Also, you need to avoid stress. Stress is a killer, especially with a stent. You have coronary Artery Disease. I know life is full of stress but you need to learn to let things go. Sounds easy and I know it is impossible to go through life without stress. Take it to your Heavenly Father and ask,, God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I Cannot change… Courage to change the things I can And Wisdom to know the difference… in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Keep this prayer in your heart so you can use it during stressful times.

I have the same sort of pain after the stents. It has been 48 hours. It could be from stretching the walls of the artery.

Try checking out checkbook.org and see if you are going to a Top Doctor/Cardiologist. You need one who can really diagnose the problems. They are few and far between. We just switched our cardiologist after my husband had a stent placement and the cardiologist REFUSED an in-office visit as a follow-up. Unbelievable.

The only thing I would mention that I think we are forgetting in a lot of cases is muscle damage and spasm. I had my stent only six days ago and after four days had a tornado come through my area and had to do everything to keep garage door from collapsing on me by holding angled boards and fence posts, talk about stress. Anyway on day five and now six I've had what I consider glitches of pain that concern me but i have the updated coated stent and the pain is real just wonder if it is damaged muscle which I have not heard anyone else speak of . Happy to be alive and will keep on trucking if all goes well and not running to doc or hospital yet, don't wan't to go through all that again unless absolutely necessary .

reading all your stories I can only say 2 things from my own experience. 1-heart problems are inpredictably from the very moment you got one. today you feel so fine and the next month you feellike you could die. 2-it's a big business for doctors, hospitals and pharmacies. So don't get to excited about getting well for good. Have faith in God will give you much confort nad who knows He might perform a little miacle.

I had a stent put into an artery that was already stented, just lower in the artery. I am having burning sensation (light) and shortness of breath. This is something new, and maybe it will stop with time. Thanks for reading, I am just kinda scared right now.

I have 6 stents in my heart. I recently had the last one about a month ago. I find I feel much better now but if I lift and carry too much weight I feel some pain then suffer about 2 days of nausea and fatigue as a result.

This is what I need to know. My husband had three stents put in 6-30-2014 and has drove lawn mower and tractor. I just don't think the vibration is good for him since it takes three months for stents to heal.
