Hi Guest,
How long he lives depends on how far it has infiltrated the lung and whether or not it has spread outside the lungs, metastizes.
Surgery is usually the form of treatment. With one lung, his options are limited. Possibly they could just remove the lobe but I can't say for certain. Get another opinion - PLEASE.
Good luck.

I am a 65 year old female and I lost my left lung 2 years ago. I have a nodule on my right lung. I went through chemo and radiation. I get CT Scans every 4 months to see if the nodule has grown. So far so good. Next one in November. I decided to live my life just as I always have, although I have made many changes. I still go through therapy. I hope he will get better, just believe.
