I have heard that drug called Oxicotin is abused a lot. I can’t understand how it is possible. I ask my neighbor, she is nurse, and she told me that it is used postoperatively as pain reliever. How is Oxicotin abused?

Oxicotin has a high abuse potential. It is designed to be swallowed whole. Abusers ingest the drug in a variety of ways. They chew the tablets or crush the tablets and snort the powder. Because oxicotin is water soluble, crushed tablets can be dissolved in water and the solution injected. These two last methods lead to the rapid release and absorption of oxicotin. People who abuse oxicotin seek to gain the euphoric effects, mitigate pain, and avoid withdrawal symptoms associated with oxicotin or heroin abstinence. That shouldn’t surprise you; they do with other drugs too.
