I am a 31 year old woman who gave birth to my third child 14 months ago. I have been very tired for quite some time but thought this was normal having three children under the age of six. I have also been in a very bad mood lately, but once again thought it was from the constant juggling of a full time career and a full time mom. I never thought these things might be symtoms of a disease until I awoke one morning with a very sore, lump near the area of my thyroid. I first thought it was a swollen lymph node resulting from probably a viral infection I cought from one of my children, but internet research leads me to believe that it probably is my thyroid. I do have a doctors appointment in two days . How concerned should I be and is it normal for thyroid nodules to be painful? Please advise.
