I imagine that if she passed mucus that it would likely be from an infection in her bladder, although I am uncertain. Did she tell her doctor about what it is, or did she just tell you? It would be helpful in the latter case if she told her doctor so that they can get a course of treatment for her. Keep us posted on what the doctor says.

Hello there,

This is something your sister should definitely report to her doctors! Since she was catheterized it is possible that she has got urinary tract infection. It is easy to confirm this diagnosis but her doctor needs to do additional tests such as urine and blood tests. After the confirmed diagnosis treatment is usually with antibiotics.

Also you should be careful if some other symptoms occur as well. Fever is also one of the symptoms which should be considered as a sign of some underlying problem.

I believe that everything is going to end well for your sister. Be her support in the future and good luck.
