I wouldn't usually bother with something like this but not enough people post about their positive experiences with medical abortion, I was in tears and gave myself an anxiety attack over reading all the bad experience so scared of taking the second lot of pills 24hrs after to flush everything out of my system.
Anyway.
I'm not financially stable or emotionally ready for kids my partner is a semi professional athelete and at this point in our lives, kids aren't an option.
I was about 6 weeks pregnant, I basically called Marie stopes on the Friday got booked in for the Monday, they were super lovely and make the experience so much easier, I'm not going to go into too much detail about the clinic side of things basically they do an ultrasound, run through a few things with you, give you the first pill at the clinic which terminates the pregnancy then send you on your way, that's honestly the easiest part.
I went home, felt fine, no problems until I nearly had a mental breakdown googling what I was in for pain wise etc.
The next day I kept putting off taking them, freaking out, messaging my friends, I even called the counseling line for the clinic to tell seek advice and they were again extremely helpful. Anyway, it got to the point where is spend the day in tears and thought, I need to just tell my parents (pretty lucky I'd just moved back in with them after moving interstate) because having someone there to support me made the whole experience 1000x easier. So my dad went, okay you need to take these pills on you go, set the timer, put a pad on, took panadine fort 15 mins before taking the pills, took the pills (4 - one in each corner of between your cheek and gum) and say and waited.
At literally 30 minutes I got up, washed down what was left of the pills and sat back down with a heat pack as I could feel the pain coming on already.
Honestly, i think I had psyched myself up for a more intense pain. It honestly was no different to those times when I've had bad period pain, yes is sucks, a lot! Period pain hurts, period.
I took some panadine for period pain (I'm sorry I'm being terrible with medical names of the pills here, can't be bothered looking them up) and after about an hour everything seemed to settle down and become very light cramping.
I went and layed in bed, drank plenty of water, put a heat pack on and just talked to my mum to get my mind off things.
After about another hour the pain started to comeback a little bit. I took another 2 panadines (the period pain ones) and went to the bathroom, sat down and noticed 2 blood clots the size of a 20 cent piece each (Australian 20c) and obviously that was the sac, as I'd read most women said the pain instantly went away after that part, well it pretty much did, I went back to bed everything settled and i felt fine.
The next day i was fine, it was honestly just like a heavy period, I took a few pain killers over the next few days as the cramps were hanging around but very faint and bare able especially with pain killers.
It's been 5 days since now and I'm noticing the blood flow is getting lighter, the cramps are almost completely gone, I'm exercising, working, been out doing everything I usually do with no problems. Wearing a pad isn't too fun haha but otherwise honestly, it has been a very positive experience.
Obviously everyone is different and some will take longer, some will hurt more etc.
But if you're going through this now, think positively because it helps, a lot. Have someone there to support you, make sure you drink plenty of water, keep up on your iron and eat well. All will be fine :)
Please excuse the poor grammar, spelling
And lack of proper medical term use. I really just wanted to get this out there quick and easy.
