I just really wanted to type out my experience because it was such a twist in what I thought was going to be an easy experience. I am 19 and have had a 3 year long relationship with my now finance. One day a mistake happened and then, I was 13 days late for my period. I took two pregnancy tests to make sure I was pregnant. And yes, I indeed was. I knew I had to get an abortion because right now I'm moving and going through school and having a child right now is the last thing I want in my life. I researched and found out about the two options for abortion, the medical and the surgical. The medical as most of you know is the pills that over time remove the growing fetus from your body. Since the surgical sounded more traumatic and from other reviews I read, they made the medical one sound easy, I opted for the medical one. If you have your period, and have Horrible cramps like I do everytime, then the medical option is not for you. I took the first pill at the office, felt fine. Took the antibiotics at home, no pain. When I took the four pills you put in your cheeks to dissolve. It induced the most pain I've ever felt in my life. I was on my bed tossing and turning for over four hours in the most excruciating pain I've ever felt. It was like someone was kicking me in the lower abdomin over and over. I was moaning and crying and going in and out of a delirious state. I kept myself in a fetal position most of the time. The ibuprofen did nothing for me. And so I took the Tylenol with codine and it still didn't help. Finally I was fed up and took and second one over the next hour. That pill made me start to puke over and over. This is just fair warning for those of you who have bad cramps during your period. The medical option is probably not for you and if I had known it was going to be so painful I would've taken the ten minute procedure. My experience may not be the case for some girls but from what I've read the woman who have light periods feel almost nothing or some cramps. For me it felt worse than breaking a leg. But, I don't want to scare anyone. I just want to inform you because I went into the abortion office after reading reviews that it was good, that it was my best option. The cramps finally went away after a large chunk of the fetus left my body, but after that the pills kept working and made most of my muscles convulse and tense up throughout the night. I felt exhausted for many hours and slept most the time and luckily didn't bleed too much after. But I will not be doing the medical abortion if it happens again because my body is not built to handle those pills. Some people are and if you do it and have a better experience than me than that's good. I just hope people with heavy periods don't have to go through what I went through cause it was awful.
