I am 43 years old live in the UK and had a Tonsillectomy 2 weeks ago.

Exceedingly painful and day 6 was the worst ever.

I was just starting to get out and about (not by too much) on friday and started to put hard foods into my diet as well as decreasing the paracetamol.

I had quite a severe post op Bleed in the early hours of saturday morning. It was very disappointing to get that far through and have the bleed then. It stopped in the night but  I went to A & E in the morning and  was put on 24 hours observation at the hospital on IV fluid and antibiotics etc etc and had 2 more minor bleeds during the night there. It stopped again of it's own accord.

They discharged me last night with the advice of no hot foods whatsoever and no hot showers either for the next few days as that can set off the bleeding to. The dry shampoo has been ordered online.

The trouble is I am having trouble with is getting cold foods which aren't acidic. Although the doctor told me cold foods only (both hard and soft is OK) he also said be sensible don't eat oranges or orange juice or spicy foods either. I've been drinking milk and eating yogurt, but then realised that that was also quite acidic. Avocados seem like a good idea so I will get some of them. Any thoughts?

on the upside, a fresh bit of white film has developed over the back of my throat which was issue and my jaw has almost stopped aching and the back of my tongue has stopped hurting as much as it was as well so I can at least drink without being in too much pain now.
