I just had the same thing happen to me. It turns out that radiation destroys part of your lymph system and your lymphatic system cannot drain. I have cancer of the larynx and my throat swelled up like I had a goiter (I didn't); it has hot and I had pain in my throat and both ears. The doctor is treating it with anitbiotics and prednisone and then I will have to have massage therapy to get the fluid drained out of my throat area.
