I wanted to post to inform other women out there what could happen if they are thinking about a tubal ligation..

My sister had her tubes tied a few years ago. She was 29. She started having problems. Periods messed up, heavier, mood swings, she even started having "shock" type feelings going down her leg. She did some research and decided she had "post tubal ligation syndrome" she talked to her dr. about it, but he blew it off as not a true syndrome. She didn't let it go. She found a Dr. who believed her out of state and had it reversed.

Now my situation..... after having my last child, I discussed a tubal with my Dr. I voiced my concerns with him about what my sister went through. He blew it off as some women were on birth control and now that they are off birth control they get their "normal" period back and they think there is something wrong because when they were on birth control it make their periods lighter and less painful . Sounded right to me.... my sister swore up and down there is such a thing as PTS but I chose to do it anyway......

I've had 10 children (not all mine I was a surrogate to 5... two sets of twins and one single)... after each pregnancy I went back to my normal weight, size, ect. I've never had a problem with that...... until my last when I had the tubal preformed. I was always like a clock with my periods. I always started the same day of the month, always in the morning, it was truly like a clock. Never having a problem. After the tubal, my periods are MUCH MUCH MUCH heavier, tons of large clots, painful, always late, sometimes by three weeks..... this is NOT normal for me. Then about 5-6 months after the tubal, my abdomen began to swell, like I was pregnant. I was not, but it looked like I was 6 months pregnant. I could not fit into my clothes..... I wore a size 8 after the birth of my last child, it usually takes me 4-6 months to get back into my normal size 6..... well now I'm in a size 12 because of my abdomen poking out so much. It seems like I've gained 20 pounds in just a few weeks, all in my tummy!

I 100% believe it is due to the tubal I had. After researching it more I believe the blood flow does get cut off and things start to "die" , not work or do their job. I am at a loss as to what to do, the only thing I can think of is have a reversal to see if it can help restore the blood flow.

I want everyone thinking about a tubal to BELIEVE the Post Tubal Syndrome is something to be taken seriously, Dr.s do not know everything...

My life is miserable I have 33 different symptoms that i experience on a daily basisi- periods that are 14+ day long and then i stop bleeding for a day or two and it starts again. I took no medications before this I am now on 8 different meds just to make sure I can get out of bed in the am. Don't do it!
