So about two weeks ago I started feeling nauseous then my boobs got bigger and feel tender. I don't want things that I usually eat especially sweet things. I dry heave when I eat certain things or smell certain things (It seems like red meat, fish, and alcohol) Everyone that has been around me or I told this to think I am pregnant. I was on the pill but found out vitamin c can effect it and I was taking vitamins before all of this happened. I am having my period but it is lighter and definitely thinner than normal. I can use panty liners and they work fine it's that light. I have taken two blood tests one was negative and I am still waiting for the other ones results. I have also taken home tests all have been negative. I have talked to two nurses and a doctor and they are all giving me conflicting answers. I feel that something is different and I have been reading blogs of other women with these symptoms but they never say what happened to them. I just want to know if there is possibility that I am pregnant I have heard of both test not being as accurate as people think. I also am just wondering if anyone else is going through this and what happened to them.

Thanks

if you are past your "period due date" than blood tests are very accurate and "symptoms" canbe very decieving because a woman can easily convince hersef of pregnancy jiust by thinking it REALLY....at any rate the pill can even cause the symptoms you speak of. I personally haven't heard the vitamin C thing andi am even in the medicalfield so with you being on the pill (which is exteamly effective) you really don'thave anything to worry about
(antibiotics and st johns wart can affect the pill-not vitamins)

I was actually reading the drug fact sheet on my pills and it said that vitamin c could affect them.

what pills are you on? Thats really strange because vitamin C is in just about everything - Are you sure it means it can affect the EFFECTIVEness of it and not just make you more sensitive to something? I need to look more into thisbecause if this is the case than you cant have a well rounded diet and cant drink juice ect ect....something just doesn't seem right about this.

I need to piggyback a little more on this: Did a little research and a regular vitamin supplement will not affect the effectiveness of your b/c pill...i repeat will NOT effect...it only very high doses of vitamin C..(over 1000mg vitamins don't have this high of a dose in most cases) that MIGHT affect the b/c pill...very little research has been done on this and its only been recently that this has been discovedas a very RARE possibility. BELIEVE me..many MANY many girls take the pill and a vitamin (its actually recommended because the pill can decrease your absorbtion of certain vitamins) and unless you are taking a ridiculous amount of Vitamin C you have nothing to worry about. I assure you[/img]

Well I was taking perfect food from garden of life everyday and I would usually put orange juice or pomegranate cranberry juice in a smoothie that I mixed with it. I also drink juice habitually and on the drug fact it said that absorbic acid can reduce the effectiveness of the pill, which is Solia. My period has been very light and now has basically stopped and I am still having these symptoms. I am not going to take my pill and see if these symptoms go away.

just realize that you will need to use another form of protection and once you start it up again itsgoing to take another 3 months for ur body to accustom to it. The whole absorbic acid/ vitamin C thing is fairly new and has has very little study behind it....Juice and vitamins need not be
banned" its only recommended that you use them in moderation (no one needs THAT much anyways) as too much of anything is a bad idea... I still feel that the chances of you being pregnant are extreamly slim and stopping your pill isn't the best thing to do- SPECIALLY since all of the tests you have taken have been negative- if you are past your "period due date" home tests are very very accurate.
Personally, I would consider a light period a positive side effect of the pill and your "symptoms" will most likely go away or atleast signifigantly lessen if you stay on the pill for a while longer- possiably try a different brand- most girls have to try 2 or 3 before they find the one thats rigtht for them..The pill is the most effective form of b/c for any sexually active girl and give you the "best chances" of remaining "baby free" If you so wish.
Good luck, and to sum: I am still willing to bet you are not pregnant and I personally feel that stopping the pill is not the best idea in this situation....of course its your body and your choice

Well my period has ended. I am off of the pill, which the doctor said was probably the reason for my symptoms, even though I was on it for 4 years with no problem. Oh I also got all of my test results back from the doctor and all of my levels and thyroid are perfectly healthy. I am still having these symptoms so I took a test 2 days ago and there was a faint pink line on the first response test. I took another one today and again there is a faint pink line. My Aunt was talking to her friend at work who has three children and she may be pregnant again and she said that blood tests and urine tests come back negative every time she is pregnant and it takes sometimes up to three months before one comes back positive. Her doctor said that some women just take longer to build up the hormone in their body.
