I am more of a patio gardener than anything else, but I do have some herbs going at the moment, and I am hoping they will last for a long time. I have some questions about preparing herbs for the winter. How do you make sure they survive, and what herbs have you got?

One of the most important things you can do for your herbs is to not harvest them as winter approaches - like one month beforehand. Believe it or not, this simple step can make the difference between life and death for your herbs, and I am sure that you will be willing to sacrifice a month of fresh herbs for that!

Some herbs simply don't do well in really cold weather, and it can help to move them indoors over the winter period sometimes. I have done this before with lemongrass, basil, bayleaf trees.... There are some other herbs that simply do better when they are inside. Hope that helps. Do say if you have any more questions.
