I need your help! Two friends just called me and they will be showing up for lunch at my house in less than an hour! Of course I am freaking out a little, considering pasta and a few veggies is all I have in the house. Perhaps it will taste OK if I add the right herbs. What do you think are the best herbs for pasta sauce?

What herbs are the best for pasta sauce depends entirely on the other contents of your pasta sauce! If you happen to have any sundried tomatoes around the house, I love cutting them up into small pieces and adding lots and lots of garlic. Fry this together with thyme, basil and oregano, preferably freshly cut. This will take you 10 minutes on a low heat while your pasta also cooks. Then, when done, add mozzarella, again, cut up into small pieces.
