Pyoderma gangrenosum is characterized by necrotic tissue with deep ulcers that usually occur on the legs. Most patients develop chronic wounds. Ulcers usually start as small, but later they progress to larger ulcers. Pain and scarring are causing a lot of trouble to the patient specially, in the summertime when the wounds can get easily infected. These infections although being situated locally, can spread to systemic infection and require systemic treatment. Pain can even wake patients up during night and cause fatigue and tiredness. It is mostly developed at the age of 40 or 50, and usually bothers a patient for the rest of the life.
