I had a cervical disectomy with fusion at c5-6 and c6-7. I felt prwetty good post op, with much pain relief of pre op pain. I did have alto of shoulder and arm pain-muscular in nature. I started therapy ater 6 weeks of wearing a miami j coller. I was felling like I was on a good path to recovery-mentally and physically. Then on the 10th week posr op the therapist put me in a traction machine-I have never felt as much pain and discomfort-pre or post op. I am told this is a little set back. It has been almost 3 months sice this traction. I am in worse pain physically, can do less for shorter periods than I could pre op, and mentally, I am very depressed. Has anyone been [put in traction post procedure- I disagreed at the time and was talked into it. DON'T LET THEM PUT YOU IN TRACTION. I am told it did not effect the surgury, but it sure feels like my neck has been ripped apart. I guess I'm looking to see if this was normal treatment or not?
