My husband has been having similar problems. His headaches are so bad that he has been on medical leave for the past 3 months! The headaches are pulsating and 24/7. He often feels dizzy and has a rapid heartbeat. He has had 2 CT scand, 3 MRI's and 1 spinal tap that all came back normal. They had thought that he might have a tumor or aneurism. He has also seen the eye doctor to see if he possibly had pressure on the optic nerve. NO, he didnt'. He is so disgusted and feels the docs have given up on him. I feel so sorry for him. OH yes, he takes bp meds so it isn't that. He checks his bp when his headaches get really bad and it is always ok. PLEASE if anyone out there has any suggestion we really appreciate it.
thanks

I have recently been diagnosed with neurally mediated hypotension. This is linked to a rapid heart rate that increases when standing, at the same time my blood pressure drops. A tilt table test is the best to determine if this is what you may have. There are medications that can help. In addition an increase in fluids and salt can help increase blood volume which should help as well.

Recently my wife had an episode where her heart rate went to 224 for about 30 minutes. I rushed her to the emergency room and while there her rate stayed at 180 for over 2 hours. Then with some meds it came down to normal which is about 72. We visited our cardiologist who recommended an ablation which was done. She has had horrible headaches since the original episode. Our MD had an MRI done and  it showed nothing out of the ordinary. Today she had to come home from work because of the severe headache. Any ideas?

Our nuerologist gave my wife a script for topromax 25mg. 1 a day for now. The side effects are rather scarey so she's going to try to find something less so. Just had MRA done. Will know resultsTuesday.

She is under a lot of stress right now and has been for a while.

I heard that stress is the difference between high expectations and reality.

I have it right now and it's been happening to me for the last 7 years. Sometimes I feel so tired from the heart pumping so hard I just lie down and even lying down heart still beats so fast. Sometimes I feel like my heart is in my throat. Like you, I have been to the doctors, specialists ( several of them, they've even got me to do all of that stress tests, EKG numerous times, heart monitor blah blah blah... and everything SEEMS TO BE NORMAL THEY SAID then one day, my doctor's office called and assistant told me that they THINK they've found the problem, my iron level is to border line low to 0. so they've asked me to take iron pills which is about the highest dosage you can get before it becomes a prescription. Now I did take those iron pills and it somewhat eliminated the problem. I have not taken these pills for quite sometime and prolly that's why it's back so I need to go and buy some more. Hopefully the problem will go away.

Good luck.

Have you gotten any news or diagnosis? I have many of the same problems, especially the jump in heart rate. I have had blood work, urine analysis, heart monitoring, etc and so far no clear diagnosis. My doc gave me xanax (.25mg) just as a buffer to the spikes, but it doesn't seem to help.

I am a woman. I am 63 and in good health, however I too have what seems to be a right side of the head pulsing headache that keeps the same rhythm as my heart. I can feel it when I try to rest at night. I never had a lot of headaches but I purchased a biomat. This amythest mat works with infrared light. It warms and sends negative ions into deep tissues to heal disease. I put mine on a low setting and slept on it for about a month. Well now Iv'e had a vascular headache for a month. My doctors don"t have answers either. I'm pretty frustrated. Last night I put an ice pack on my right forehead and temple. The pain eased but at the same time my heart area tightened up, and pained.  This went on all night. I am stihaving chest pain discomfort this morning. I had a CTscan last week that was negative. I feel for you. I'll pray!
