I'm a 23 yrs old female and tomorrow will be a week since my Tonsillectomy. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th day were the worst for me. Mainly because everything except ice water seemed to irritate my thoat and I was taking 3 teaspoons of loratab every 4 hours which began to make me sick. throwing up after the surgery is extremely unpleasant. my doctor suggested taking 2 teaspoons every 3 hours and it helped. I'm still having trouble at night with the pain despite waking up and taking the pain medicine every 3 hours. When I wake up in the morning, I'm extremely sore, but once I take my pain medicine and relax with ice on my jaw for about a 1/2 an hour, I feel pretty good. I'm actually venturing out of the house today because I've been feeling much better. I hope that will help me even more.I'm just wondering when I'll start to feel normal again.

I've been eating pudding, some mac and cheese, cream soups (NOT HOT!), and instant mash potatoes. Like some people said, I can't WAIT to be able to eat pizza again!

Overall, the experience has been rough, but completely worth it. No more strep throat or throat infections numerous times throughout the year.

Good luck to everyone!
