You guys are idiots. Roxicet and Roxicodone are two completely different pills. Roxicodone is pure oxycodone with no tylenol in salt form and roxicet is just a regular percocet with tylenol that comes in higher doses.

percocet is an oxcycodone/acidemenophen combo. tylox is oxycodone/tylenol. roxicet has nothing but ocycodone and is immediate. ocycontin is pure ocycodone but is time released. so a roxicet ten mg pill has the same amount of narcotic as percocet, but perks have the acidamenophen. so buy some cheap acidamenophen xstrength tabs and take one in addition to a roxy then it is the same as percocet

These patients are not crazy. They are telling you the truth. There may not be a difference in the way it is made, but there is a difference how every generic affects people's pain. I have a son who switched brands. He said all of it made him crzy in his head but some brands did not take away his pain as well. I have spoken with several other patients who take this and every one will tell you one brand affects them differently. These are the side effects people have experienced when switching generics. Itching, nausea, headache, dizziness, etc. A surgeon told me that the generic pain meds. I was taking after surgery was causing my severe headaches, I switched to a different generic and it went away. Out of curiousity took the old brand one day and the headache came back. So you guys are not crzy. A surgeon...who doesn't agree with generics....Hmmmmm...My mother n law also switched generic blood pressure medicine and her blood pressue went so high she became very ill. The doctor then wrote on her prescriptions no more generics....So there is a difference. Yes, I am glad there are generics for people who can't buy brand, but don't tell these people who are in pain that they don't know what they are talking about.

You people who keep saying RoxiCET does not have tylenol in it are wrong!! If you don't know your stuff you should not act like you know because you are putting false information up here. I am an RN and know which ones have tylenol and which don't. anything that ends in CET have tylenol!

There is an marked difference between roxicet and percocet. I am a sickle cell patient so I deal with chronic pain issues. I still try to lead a productive life so finding ways to effectively manage my pain is very important. My doctor and I noticed that after a while it was taking far too long for the Percocet to take effect and he switched me over to Roxicet. And although Roxicet doesn't work quite as well with my pain it takes effect much faster. So in order to make it through my day I preferred Roxicet over the Percocet because I would get relief much faster. So although there is a generic for both Percocet and Roxicet which may be exactly like the brand names, the two medicines are NOT the same, hence, the two separate names.

Hey guys I was just reading and thought I would leave a message that the difference is the Tylenol if you take a 5mg tab of roxicet and have been taking percocet 5/325 the 325 in it is Tylenol and you should try taking two Tylenol with your roxicet or at least one and see if that helps good luck guys.

There is a difference. My pain is real. I have bilateral uretic stents and was doing just fine with Percocet until I took my 2nd prescription in to a different pharmacy (dumb move) and was given Roxicet. I have not had one single bit of relief in the 3 days since I filled it. I have to go back to my Urologist and have him give me another script to take to the other pharmacy. All the this talk of what's in each one, and who is a professional whatever, does not change the fact that this stuff just does not work for the majority of people.

My Granfather is a pharmacist. And the person who said they are exactly alike and the placebo statements are really just not true. The FDA requires the ACTIVE ingredient be the same. However, the fillers and buffers and chemical compounds that decide the time release of the drug into your system are greatly varied in generics. It's just common sense. It's exactly the same but cheaper ?? Where in life has this ever been true !!!??? No. The generics have a lack of sophisticated, EXPENSIVE compounds. That is why people feel sick. Or dizzy. Or no relief from pain. You are all definitely not imagining it. The generics just don't work for you. And it's quite a battle to get brand name. Yeah. Cause they are just the same right ?? Hmmpt. Insurance pushes them because they are made with cheaper ingredients. And really cost effective for them. Generics work fine for many people. So I'm glad they exsist. But they are not the same. The FDA allows drug companies a very wide berth with the fillers. They ARE not the same.

My husband has used both and says they work the same for him. The only problem is his pain is in his throat. The Roxicet is a liquid and the Percocet a pill, which he can't swallow. Once we were told it was ok to crush up the Percocet and put it in a liquid, he was able to take them. We had to do this when he ran out of Roxicet on the weekend. That being said, there is one medicine he takes which he swears is more effective in the expensive brand compared to the generic--it is called magic mouthwash. The brand name stuff comes in a kit, which the pharmacist mixes for him, but it is easy to do. With the generic, I guess the pharmacist pulls certain ingredients and mixes it up from scratch--like the difference between a cake mix and a cake made from scratch. He swears the kit is better at numbing up his mouth pain. So if he sees a difference there, then who is to say other people wouldn't be sensitive to some small, minute difference in Percocet versus Roxicet? I hate the doctors (or people who just *say* they are doctors) coming on here to tell people they are wrong in their own sensory perceptions. As if the doctors were all knowing, all seeing gods. Please! I'd listen to my own body and experience over all the science in the world any day.

Hate to break it to you....but oxycodone is in Percocet, Roxicet, Endocet....whatever.

percocet is 5 or 10 mg of oxycodone and 500 or 325mg of tylenol respectively. roxicet is the same thing as a percocet except the version with 5mg of oxycodone has only 325mg of tylenol. just as a lorcet is 10mg oxycodone with 650mg of tylenol. its just different names or different oxycodone to tylenol ratios

roxicet contains oxycodone hcl..a watered down version of percorcet which contains pure oxycodone

Amazing to me how some people will believe everything they here. I am not a Dr , nurse or pharmacist. I am a medication aide and an administrator of an assisted living facility. I also have been in severe pain for about 12 yrs. now. I have taken many different meds including percocet, morphine and a few others. I have taken both generic and brand name. They both work the same and I agree with the above advice from the pharmacist, it is possable to have a reaction from your generic(most likley due to added colors). So as for me if I have a problem with any meds I contact my Dr. and pharmacist not my friends.

One you build a tolerance to narcotics and can take more with less side effects also depending on the tylenol concentration if the the oxycodone last longer and if you are also getting pain relief from the tylenol. Tylenol is the binding agent and will give it a stronger and longer effect with higher tylenol doses but the tylenol also tears up the liver.
