You can go to pull identifier and it will show the exact active and inactive ingredients in every medication. If u do, u will see that the each one name brand vs generic and even one mfg generic vs another all contain different inactive ingredients. As a rule of thumb for myself, I avoid any medication manufactured by Watson. In my opinion the are all trash. Hope this helps!

I do not believe that this Ortega person is a pharmacist. his information is wrong right down to the Oreos. Roxicet is an inferior tablet that not only does not work well, it can make you very sick [nausea and vomiting]. should be taken off the market if you ask me.

Quick note. My BiL was a pham rep. Law states generic can be the same within 20%. So within strength values that could actually mean 40% difference to to patient. I like Roxicet actually not endocet. I can cut one in half and the other I need two for the same relief. Once my BiL explained it this it all made sense. To while everything you say is accurate and well stated there's another big factor. The FDA guidelines allow for active ingredients to be within a range and not to be exact.

There isn’t acetaminophen in Roxicet. When they switched me I felt the same until I added a Tylenol when I took it

They are not the same thing and the percocet relives your pain while the roxicet does not. I just read that they maybe discontinuing roxicet and hope this is true.

The inert ingredients can and do sometimes effect the absorption of a drug. When I worked on the floor in the hospital on a specialty unit, some of the generic drugs did not work as well. Some generic inhalers have the same issues. I saw this again and again in the patient population. No one coerced the patients to complain about the same generics time and time again. We are not talking pain meds here. Our physicians began avoiding the generics that we most frequently had complaints on, because it became clear that SOMETHING was different. We felt it must have been the inert ingredients being used that was blocking the absorption or another mechanism of the action of the drugs. In this case it was not an issue of tolerance. To completely discredit all generics from his problem is a bit closed minded. I am not saying that generics are bad. or that all of them are not as effective, but to totally discredit all claims that there are no generics that don't perform as the brand name is not healthy for your patients.
