Roxicet Vs Percocet. wats the difference???

u r a nut that has prob never been in pain al the time .i wont go into all the detials but ppl all r different what wors for some may not for others.there is a great difference between percocet an generic u must be one of the incurance docs lol.who an where r u so i never go to u for anything. or u r the type that is brain washes by the americam medical ppl , news flash drug maer r not in bussiness to cure us only the dollor counts. i could explain a lot stuff to u but if u r really a doc u no that already, do u really beleve what u said above lol

I have been on Percocet 10/325, and yesterday was my scheduled refill. I went to CVS, and received a totally different generic brand. By last night, my pain was so bad I had to go to the emergency room. When I called the pharmacist, he said he was not surprised, and added that CVS is now using different manufacturers to become more profitable because of the price difference: generic/ vs brand. Generics are not the same, as I can personally attest to this scenario. This is also the first comment I am leaving, as I have been online researching this unfortunate situation (my becoming VERY ill from the generic + NO pain relief). I am not the only one having this problem. Percocet Brand worked PERFECT to control my chronic pain, and it is EXTREMELY UPSETTING after my doctor has worked very hard to get my pain managed, and now have this problem with the GENERIC. My MD said some people can NOT take generic substitution, and I happen to be one of them. Thanks to our ROTTEN HEALTHCARE + GOVERNMENT, we will all be suffering...doctors & patients alike... Medicine is not what is used to be..Corners are being cut, and doctors are being told now what they can and can not do. It's up to us to have open communication with our doctors, and tell them immediately when something is or is not working. I don't care what anyone says, GENERICS are not the same for me and I have the emergency room receipt to prove this.

I believe you said you are a doctor. I am surprised by your response. First off, generics, although they have the same active ingredients, they have differences; they may use different fillers and coatings, chelated or not etc. Which can affect effectiveness and have some added side effects.Especially with narcotic and anti-depressant medications (headaches). Secondly, if you are a doctor I wonder if you have or any other doctor that you know has ever written a prescription that has said "may not substitute"? Meaning NAME BRAND ONLY.

I was just released from the hospital and I am having different side effects to roxicet. I really don't have a problem with generics, but I find the roxicet keeps me up all night. I was not having this agitation in the hospital. So I googled generics out of curiosity. Not sure, but I studied science in college and I usually like to analyze things. I don't think it is in my head that I feel different.

Dr. Ortega, I am a Disabled Veteran with Fibromyalgia, Degenerative Spinal Condition(with a positive HLA-B27 and severe injury to my Sacrum) my Level of education is a PhD. in Computer Engineering. Could you please shed some light and truth about the difference between Morphine, Oxycodone, and Oxycontin? I ask because I am intolerant of/to Morphine(according to the VA Doctors) and I took Oxycontin for 13 years when it became to painful to stand or walk. I am now after a year on my own effort, down from the prescribed 50 mgs 4 times a day of Oxycontin to 40 mgs 3times every 2 days, or 40 mgs every 16 hours. I agreed to go back to the VA and my Primary Care physician prescribed plain Oxycodone 5mg tabs 1-2 every 8 hours as needed. I have been in so much pain this weekend(I got them on Friday evening) that I am just agonizing and I promised I would call and tell him if it is not working and I will this morning (it is Monday) I want to try 3 tabs 3 times a day of the 5 mgs Oxycodone) but am not sure it will be effective. I have researched these but dont know why the Morphine does not work effectively and I do not understand the MEQ (Morphine equivalent of each) and if it is just because I am at such a low dose for the level of pain I am enduring which I am told by the Doctors is not in my head but is physical. Even the psychiatrist agrees. I am impressed with the straight forwardness of your answers and the understandability of your answers. Please just give me the difference between these 3 and why the VA has abandoned the Oxycontin alternative (cost?). As a side note The VA where I live opened (Jan 15th 2014) its 1st ever PAIN MANAGEMENT CLINIC. I have no idea why it took this long except cost. I hope it gives many of us some alternatives to the constant level 8-10 agony.

There is a difference, and proprietary is just that. Nobody else can make the same exact item. There is some difference, in a legal stand point there has to be. The formulas are different. And if you are truly a dr then you should know how minute changes to any formuly, can have drastic effects.
take a perc for migraine, its gone in 5. Take the same dose generic, it does nothing but get the patient high.

I notice a difference between the roxicet and the percocet.  Roxicet's do nothing for me but give me a stiff neck.  The percs do make me feel a lil dizzy but at least they are better than no relief as with the roxicet.

People going back and forth on if there is a difference between percocet and Roxicet or any other generic drug. Is there a different between dollar store brand dish detergent ..or generic food..HELL YES...cheaper ..substandard Ingredients..The people who says they are the same are speaking from waht i've been told by the goverment and other sourses ..on Paper they are the same..but take them and try them they are not..so if the generic for heart and etc problems are not Recommend..I wonder why..go to the market and buy a can of green beans or box of oatmeal..and see if the generic greens have bits and pieces..and the oatmeal looks like floor scrapings..or sawdust..Oh they are the same on paper..green beans  and oatmeal..to the consumer they ARE NOT.. the Dr. or Pharmacist its the same because they label and prescribe not use .you can bet they use Brand names ..and dont let them tell that bull that they don't.

You are wrong, do not have any grasp of the concept of Brand Names or monopolistic competition, and are babbling like a Tarot card reader about experiencing what is actually just the placebo effect.

Roxicet and Percocet are brand names they are not generics. The generic name for these medications is simply the oxycodone/acetaminophen. For all those saying there is not Tylenol in Roxicet are wrong. They are called Roxicodone when they do not contain the Tylenol. Everyone is different but I have found that Roxicet works better for me than Percocet.

Both percecet and roxicet are oxycodone. No difference what so ever. Endocet is also oxycodone . all three are brand names. Made by different drug makers.

I find it extremely hard to believe that your a doctor due to the fact you stated anything that ends in cet has Tylenol that is not true percocet has Tylenol roxicet is oxycodone only no Tylenol included
