Wondering how long it has taken a typical distance runner to start running again after a total abdominal hysterectomy. I'm 43 years old and had surgery one week ago. Doc say's it takes 6 weeks. Really????

It usually takes 6 to 8 weeks but considering you were active before, let's keep the number to 6. Ask your doc when you could start with some light exercising just to keep your mind fresh and reduce muscle tension.
