I had ultrasound recently and results indicate that I have an adnexal septated complex cyst versus simple cysts on my left ovary. My doctor is repeating ultrasound next week. Almost every couple of years I have to have a D&C because my bleeding becomes so heavy. What does complex adnexal septated exactly mean? Are my ovaries septated too?

So it looks like the ultrasound isn’t clearly showing whether there is one complex cyst or more than one cyst. Septated means that they are divided into segments and adexnal means that it is in the area near the uterus, which includes the ovaries and fallopian tubes.
Diagnose doesn’t indicate that your ovaries are septated. I am not even sure that is possible.
