Hi Alisa,

Thank you for posting!

I was on the Kyleena and honestly when I put it in I had some issues as well (fever, chills, yeast infections, anxiety/panic, exhaustion, body pains). Then that mostly went away then after being on it for some time I started getting bleeding all the time, mild anxiety, cravings, mood swings and I would feel this shooting feeling in my body like I just did a drug then suddenly I’m hungry or suddenly I’m moody then another shooting feeling suddenly I’m happy lol?.

Then December 2021 all hell broke lose chest pain, palpitations, migraines brain fog, diarrhea pins and needles, blurred vision, nausea- this all ended me up in the ER everything came out normal. I ended up taking it out after this, I was terrified. And that’s when some symptoms went away and Within 3-days of removal, fever, headaches, migraines, pressure and cold and heat in my head as well, vision problems ( I was sent to a specialist), sinus infection (I been on meds for 4 months now), muscle weakness sometimes, generalized anxiety, like everything scared me (constant fight or flight feeling), severe anxiety attacks, intrusive thoughts, chest pain, allergic reactions to foods. I also had no emotions for the first 3 months after removal. I broke up with my bf because I couldn’t understand why I had no feelings for him and 2 weeks before removal we were discussing marriage. Now my emotions are coming back. I was doing better I got sick recently Covid I believe and it threw me back. I hadn’t took my vitamins wasn’t eating properly or sleeping properly and my symptoms came back with a vengeance. I have anxiety attacks, anger (nothing would ever make me angry before ever), and depression especially when I’m on my period, I have all these suicidal thoughts . My doctor said I have sinusitis and maybe it’s just the weather?

Thank you for posting this gives me hope that I will get better. I am back on vitamins eating right working out and sleeping more. And I am so lucky to have my bf here. But it’s so scary not knowing when a symptom will come up or which one or which new one!
Let’s just say I would’ve just rather had a kid because I am traumatized

I’m sorry you’re going through this, it’s horrible! I was also thinking I’d rather have an unplanned baby then go through this crazy health and mental issues. How long you’ve been off Kyleena for? I stopped taking birth control 11 month ago, I can say I feel much much better but still not 100%. What helped me a lot is taking vitamins (prescribed by functional medicine doctor), yoga, meditation (amazing for anxiety), I also stopped eating gluten, drinking coffee and alcohol for 5 month (slowly returned wine and occasional gluten now). Also what I found very helpful is eating on time 3 meals a day, no skipping and not being delayed (if I’m late for my meal I get anxiety). So eating well and healthy is definitely helpful!! If you need any tips or support you can email me (I don’t get notifications here if somebody replies), I hope you are feeling better ❤️

I forgot to mention, I also had Covid for the second time 3 months ago, my anxiety, tingling and overall health went down the hill again (more mild version). It took me a month to recover and start to feel like a human again.

Hiii, this message made me feel a lot better because I came off the pill at the end of May and it’s September and I’m starting to experience muscle spasms and pins and needles in my feet, did you also feel that your feet were burning slightly not sure how to describe it!?
But thanks so much for sharing because everyone is telling me I’m crazy !

Of course! Made me feel better too when I read all this messages here that I’m not alone and not crazy! I didn’t have burning sensations in my feet, just pins and needles and also light numbness on some of the fingers and toes. I hope yours will go away soon!
It’s a year since I’m off birth control and I’m 90% feel like myself! Yay!

Hi! My name is Kayla. I’ve been off the pill since June 5th, 2022. I was only on the pill for 3 1/2 months and am still experiencing the effects of coming off. I’m waiting on the results of my Dutch test. Right now I’m on day 2 of my 3rd period and I am so overly emotional. I can cry at the drop of a hat. I keep getting this light/anxious scary feeling in my chest. I was having better days, but this period is kicking my butt. I cannot wait for this chapter of my life to be over. The days before this period I would have the worst headaches paired with a horrible neck stiffness.

When all this stuff started, I was still on the pill and was just feeling very hopeless and that something was seriously wrong with me and I was going to die soon. The week after I stopped, I had the worst panic attack of my life. The months that followed were packed with anxious thoughts, intense anxiety, constant crying and feelings of doom, very bad panic attacks, heart palpitations!!!, vision problems, joint pain, fatigue..the list goes on.

I am doing better than I was in the beginning, don’t get me wrong, but it is very discouraging to have these bad days in a row. I’m on day 4 of days that aren’t so good for me. I can’t wait for this to be over.

I’m sorry to hear it:( I can say that it will eventually get better!! What helped me a lot is giving up caffeine, alcohol and gluten. Meditation and breathing exercises (especially in the moments of anxiety) and moving body every day (be it a walk, yoga, stretching, anything)! I hope you feel better!

Hi Megan, How are you doing now, a year later? I'm almost 3 months off and am feeling terrible. New symptoms are popping up every day- tingling in arms/hands/top of head, feeling breathless, heart rate that shoots all around, derealization and HORRIFIC anxiety. So glad to have found this forum!

Hi, Emily I'm currently going through similar stuff like tingling sensation all over my body and numbness in my head and feel so scared. I had done MRI it came normal. But everything is the same even after 3 months and I feel so alone like nobody understands and like I'm never going to feel normal again..after all this time when did those effects subsided for good?
