I also took seroquiel for 9 years 50 mg, have developed cataracts. The drug is addictive, and very hard to get off of. I haven't taken it in 6 months now, and have a very hard time sleeping a full night.

Yes I do see spots around lights, they have already had the lawsuit, and paid out billions of dollars. Sad that the FDA keeps drugs like this. Medical marijuana is more safe than this. Drugs companies make to much money.

Cataracts do not make your eyes itch. They make it hard for you to see well. For example, at night, the headlights can have hazy fields around them. I have them and find that my peripheral vision sometimes has distortions, like a haze and a blinking where there is no blink.

I see spokes around lights. I am not a beagle. Just a 38 year old woman who has taken Seroquel since 2013.

I am 38 and I have been on Seroquel for five years.

I had noticed that a risk for cataracts was mentioned on the third page of Costco Pharmacy warnings when I first started taking it, but 6 months ago I started noticing that I would get flashback or a haze from lights in the distance.

My eye doctor confirmed that it's cataracts and adjusted my eye prescription. My prescribing nurse and medical doctor have both been surprised that such a thing has happened. My medical doctor especially asked me how I could know that I had cataracts.

So far i have decided not to get off of Seroquel because me eye doctor indicated that it's pretty easy to get cataracts removed. But, I am dubious.

But, on the other hand, I was taken off of Seroquel by a previous psychiatrist and she did not know how to taper properly. I wound up going off of Seroquel cold turkey and it was pretty terrible. I am hesitant to get off of a medicine that works pretty well for my mental health needs. Also, I don't know that getting off of Seroquel will help the cataracts at all.

i have been taken seroquel for years ,3 years ago i had eye exam from a specialist and was told I had baby cataract .it won't need take care in 10 years ,the problem was neither my physician or specialist warned me about seroquel .a couple months ago ,i started the burning sensation ,light sensitiveness, tears, and pressure on my forehead .I looked the mirror and found the baby cataract on both eye are not babies any more.I am having a hard time to get in the same eye Doctor schedule .I have been used eye drops all day long. The problem is seroquel for sleep is not a good treatment for insomnia ,I got high cholesterol and A1C elevated in the past 2 years.Psychiatrists are lack knowledge of side effects and did not consult with primary physicians. It looks like they won't talk each other.
Primary physician should also aware of psyc meds .but my told me she has nothing to do with my medication the came form psyc meds.Again those meds just for anxiety and depression ,but i got all the side effects of them.Do't trust your Doctors .just check every meds when you get a new proscriptions.
