hi evryone, last week my fiancee was involved in an accident he suffered a severe skull fracture. he is still in hospital he is sedated the doctors say they are going to keep him sedated until the the swelling in the brain goes down, after it goes down it is then they are going to operate him i just want to know how long is it going to take for him to recover and what damages please

I had a the same problem after getting hit by a drunk driving while riding my scooter on 4/27/12. I had to have surgery because my brain basically got swollen. after my surgery doctors put me in comma to allow my brain to heal. my surgery (according to my husband) lasted 5 hours. the recovery thou took about 6 months in total, but im very healthy, dont smoke, drink socially and im in great shape. hopefully so its your boyfriend, and if thats the case, he could heal pretty fast. as to damages, i got none, however doctors said i was the lucky one! thay say 8 out of 10 people are not so lucky. HOPE YOU GUYS ARE ANOTHER LUCKY CASE and if the accident was due to him not using a helmet hope he(like me) learn his lesson..... GOOD LUCK!:-D

Hello SLW i am so gald to finally report to you that he has survived with Gods mercy. Hewoke up from the coma and the swelling actually has gone down, the other great news is that the doctors did not have to operate they say the fractures on his brain will heal by itself. It has been a very difficult 4 weeks but he has made a tremondous recovery the doctors are actually saying he is a living miracle. I thank God everyday for granting him a second chance in life. in the coming week he is getting discharged and then going to rehab for 3 weeks because he needs to learn how to walk again and use his left side, his memory is still intact and well he cant remember well what happend the night he got attacked but the most amazing thing is seeing him wow thank i am so happy>
