Ii just had sex for the first time five days ago. I am worried because first of all my boyfriend didnt use protection. But he promised to pull out before he came, and I'm even pretty sure he never came at all because we were interrupted before he could... Anyways the problem I am confused about is this. The day of, I had been experiencing period symptoms.( bad cramps, sore breasts and moodiness) so much so that I was sure it was coming of not that night, the next day. After that night when we had sex though, the symptoms went away and it never came not even now, five days later. I have a history of irregular periods but should this worry me? Is it possible for a period, seemingly hours away, to just stop because I had sex? 90% chance my boyfriend never ejaculated but still? And I don't want to tell him until I am sure this could be an issue... So please help me out.

I believe that you may be experiencing is the aftermath of having sex for the first time. Since it was your first time, there were muscles that had never been used before, which is why you may have experienced cramps or pains on your lower half. I'm guessing he played with your breasts, which may be why they are sore. However, make sure to take a pregnancy test just to be certain.

Dear Confused_and_Young

  1. Why did you not use protection? Any time you have unprotected sex you stand the risk of getting pregnant.
  2. 90% chance your boyfriend never ejaculated = 10% chance he did.
  3. However, if sex was within single-figure days of your period, the chances are you wouldn't get pregnant. It has to be in your fertile period.
  4. But your periods are irregular. So, what is the range of your cycle-length, and when did your last period start?

I had been experiencing the period symptoms before we had sex, they stopped the next day, that is why I assumed that having sex stopped my period from coming...? Because my period was so close to coming. If that's possible?

No. Having sex won't delay your period. Nor will first-time sex in particular ... unless you get pregnant! They're popular myths. However, periods do vary from time to time anyway ... and you have a history of irregular periods.

So, what is the range of your cycle-length, and when did your last period start?

If you want to discuss more in private, feel free to do so.

Some good news, my period started today but it is quite a bit lighter than normal. In response to your questions my periods usually last a week and my last was the twenty fifth of October. am I in the clear now that my period has started or should I still use a pregnancy test?

Good! If your period started on 27th Nov, you probably ovulated about 14th Nov. So if you had sex 21st Nov, that would have been well outside your fertile period. I think you are in the clear. But, bearing in mind your concerns, I think a test would be a good idea.

Now that your angst is over, please think about your sexual activity

  1. Why did you give away your virginity just then? It doesn't sound as though it was planned beforehand.
  2. Why did you not use protection? Anytime you have unprotected sex you are at great risk of pregnancy.
  3. Why were you going to let him ejaculate inside you? He only didn't because you were interrupted!
  4. What were the circumstances of that interruption? What are the implications of it?

I don't expect you to necessarily respond to these in public, but please consider what your answers mean. Respect yourself, and think about your future: e.g. education, career, marriage (especially).

If I can be of any further help, please feel free to ask (privately if you wish).

Take Care

I just had sex for the first time with no protection (he did not ejaculate inside of me) and I am having lower stomach pains. Is this normal?
