ok, it's been at least two, two and a half weeks since I had my cryosurgery. I was following all the doctors orders and not having anything up there at all. But my boyfriend came over and one thing led to another. And we used to have sex everyday, but decided to stop like two or three weeks before I had my surgery. The doctor told me to wait six weeks. I'm just really freaking out because I know I shouldn't have done anything! I just need to know is there anything that might be wrong? I know its like an open wound and I'm really regreting what I did. I just need some reasurance that everything will be ok. Please help me! :'( ?

Hi havocgirl,
I had cryoablaton eight days ago and my doctor told me "nothing goes up there until after your follow-up and I say so." He really scared me...but like you, my husband and I aren't accustomed to holding back - that just does not work for us. In fact, we proved we couldn't wait more then 3 days. That's right, three days after my procedure, we slipped up. But then we made a pact not to do it again until I get the doctor's ok. Well, last night my husband slipped up again. How should I say this: I caught him with his hand in the cookie jar but I stopped him. I have my first follow-up today. I'm just gonna lie if my doctor asks if I had sex. I think they tell us "nothing up there" to protect us from infections. So I think unless we have infection symptoms, like maybe a high temp, we're ok. But, I'm not letting it happen again. 8-|

Hi again havocgirl111,
I had my follow-up appointment with my doctor and he said he usually tells women to wait a week and a half to two weeks before having intercourse again. He actually gave me the go ahead already. I told him that I read online that a women was told by her doctor to wait six weeks (of course I was talking about you) and his response was that he thought six weeks was a little extreme....so there you go. As long as you don't have extreme cramps and your other bodily functions are working ok, then I would feel comfortable going for it! Maybe you should ask your doctor why he or she told you six weeks.

HOWEVER, if we are talking about completely different reasons why we had the procedure, then please don't take my advice. I had mine to remove the lining of my uterus. Why did you have yours?

Hi HavocGirl, I'm sorry that you're freaked out right now but did you at least have safe sex? Let me know how things are going with you and how you're doing. Have you experienced any bleeding or anything?

I was just looking at a couple of my posts and I realized that yours raised some questions. Can you tell me more about this? I'm not very familiar with the procedure--why does it matter what reason she has it done? I'm not asking to be rude, just curious. Can you let me know?

From what I've read I've gathered that cryoablation can be used to not only remove glands(?) to reduce/eliminate uterine bleeding but also to remove tumors.

Ah okay. I had only heard about it for one reason and one reason only which was what you did, but thanks for opening my eyes. I was not aware that there were multiple uses.

What tipped me off was when I re-read her subject line. The word she used was "cryosurgery." I assumed, perhaps mistakenly, it was cryoablation. That will teach me for skimming a subject line and assuming what someone is saying rather than paying closer attention. :$ However, both procedures use sub-zero temperatures. I hope she's doing well and updates us soon.

As do I. It's an honest mistake though and as far as I knew there was only a cryoablation so I guess we both learned something here

Hey, can you tell us how you're doing? We'd like to hear how things are going for you!

I'm doing GREAT. I haven't even spotted in two weeks. However, the doctor said it will take about three month before I'll know for sure how it worked. So far I would recommend "Her Option" Cryoablation to any woman who has annoying periods and is not hoping to have children.

Thanks for asking.

That's great to hear! I'm sure that it's going to be a bit of a wait but it sounds like you've recovered pretty well. Thanks for the update. :-)

hey guys sorry it took so long. Ive been having lots of busy work with my job and school. But Cryosugery was to remove cancerous cells on the cervex or to freeze something called cervicitus. But im actually doing fine. I went for a follow-up and he said that whoever did my surgery was a genius and i was 100% better. (He's so funny :-P ) But yes I hope to hear from you guys soon:] and I do feel somewhat 100% better. Just problems with my pill now :/
