Hi all<
I am experiencing some sharp but quick pains in the center of my chest that do not seem to be related to breathing or movement.
The pains are quick but fairly intense. They feel as though there is a small explosion in my chest in the way that it starts with an intense sharp pain and then just dissipates. I am having these pains on average between 30 seconds to two minutes apart.

i do have a myocardial bridge that has given me chest pains in the past but not like this.

Any ideas?

Hi jamcamz, it sounds like that is a pretty scary thing happening to you right now and I could guess as to what it is over and over but I think what's best to do is see a doctor. Any time you have chest pain, see a doctor. There isn't anything else that needs to be checked out as quickly as that, so please talk to someone about it quickly. Can you keep us posted on what the doctor says? All the best for you. Keep us posted.

Depending on your age it can be a number of things. Youth tend to have chest pain that derives from a muscular orgin. Meaning, all that hunching we do is not just causing us back pains. Try stretching out your chest (there are a number of different stretches for this) because that may help release some of the tension in your chest. Older adults usually experience chest pain for cardiac reasons or reasons like intercostal inflammation. Either way anyone suffering from chest pain who reads this should see their doctor but try not to stress too much about the orgin because there are endless reasons why you may be experiencing it.
